How does making $50,000 per month selling OTHER people’s products sound?
But it’s true…
In fact, this post is going reveal how you can do this using a simple, unique 3 step system to selling branded products on Amazon.
Watch the video below:
What word rings a bell when you hear someone talk about “selling on Amazon”?
Although it’s a great way to make money on Amazon, there’s only one thing…
Not everyone wants to build their own product and brand.
(If this sounds like you, I want to extend to you my warmest, virtual hug)
Because like you, I enjoy selling branded products instead…
In fact, my very first business in the gaming niche involved selling Nintendo games and accessories.
I made A LOT of money with little work to say the least (who doesn’t love Nintendo?), simply by leveraging the power of another brand to make money.
Today, I’d like to share with you how you can do the same.
That’s why I’ll be turning to Amazon millionaires, Dan and Eric, who made over $16 million dollars alone on Amazon per year – to share with you their 3-step system to selling branded products on Amazon.
The best part? They were able to do this:
- WITHOUT paid ads
- WITHOUT creating a product
- WITHOUT dealing with customer service
- WITHOUT a website or email list
(And, of course, WITHOUT private labelling.)
Instead, they use a simple 3-step system called “Reverse Wholesale” to sell branded products on Amazon.
In this post we’ll be showing you this system and how you can copy this system to make money selling branded items yourself.
(By the way, whether you’re private labelling on Amazon, or have no experience whatsoever, keep reading on as this method may just be perfect for you if you’re looking for a way to make cash in a short period.)
“Wait, isn’t selling branded products illegal?”
This is a question we always get here at Wholesale Ted.
The answer is yes and no.
Going back to what I said, selling Nintendo games at a profit was how I made my first buck online.
But most of our subscribers here aren’t really interested in selling that. Instead, they want to leverage and sell the BIG brands: Apple, Nike, Puma…
The problem is, you can’t.
“But Sarah you just said Dan and Eric make $16 mill— ,“ yes, yes I did. But first, allow to me explain…
You see, not only do companies like Apple have really strict rules around who they sell their products at wholesale to…
BUT, spoiler, companies like Apple don’t actually sell their items at true “discounted” rates. They sell them almost at cost to big retailers like Best Buy. Companies like Best Buy don’t make much if any profit on the iPads at all. Instead, they are loss leaders. And they make their true money from accessory upsells.
So no: billion dollar products are very hard to buy in bulk at “wholesale” rates.
But branded items that are selling in the 7-figure, 8-figure and even 9-figure yearly range? These are the sorts of products you want to sell and buy from wholesalers.
Step #1: Locate high-profit, high potential branded products on Amazon
This step involves looking for branded products on Amazon that have a HUGE buyer demand, but very bad listings.
So what’s a high-profit, high-potential brand on Amazon?
This is a great example. On Jungle Scout, they are selling around 400 units a month, which means it’s making over $14,000 a month in sales.
BUT, the listing is hideous.
I mean, just take another look at it:
- The title (The #1 keyword isn’t even at the start!)
- The features (“Tartar control”? What even is that?)
- The images (Only 2?)
I mean, this item – it’s so popular, but because it looks so unprofessional, it will turn a lot of buyers off. It’s a huge wasted opportunity as Cadet Pet clearly know nothing about selling on Amazon – but that also means there is HUGE potential here.
Now, if we compare it to a good listing like this…
We clearly see a big, big difference. The title is super descriptive, also showcasing some of the benefits of it e.g. “premium grade”, “odor free”, “all natural.”
These are all benefits.
Now consider this: Imagine if you were to come in and re-write Cadet Pet’s whole listing?
How many more sales you could make?
This is the main objective of part 1: to “refurbish” a product that is already proven to sell well.
By refurbish, we mean improving its images, product title, product description and also features and benefits.
When a product in high demand has a poor listing, you have the opportunity to “sneak” in and improve this listing – to make even more sales.
Step #2: Create a Wholesale Account
The next step is to ask if you can open a Wholesale Account with the manufacturer of the product you have identified.
And believe me when I say, this is actually really simple.
Simply Google the company’s website, click on their company website, and then click “Contact Us” and reach out through their contact form. You do this to gain access to their Wholesale distributor so that you can buy the product at discounted rates and sell them for a profit.
However, there is a slight catch: Manufacturers don’t just accept anybody.
That’s why you use Dan’s secret method…
Instead of trying to lie your way through to opening an account (and embarrassingly getting caught out), you take a different approach. You negotiate.
Something along these lines:
“Hey, I’ll come in, edit your listing and MASSIVELY increase your sales. In exchange, we’ll make a contract, we’ll make a deal. My business, my company, gets the right to buy these products direct from your manufacturer, at wholesale, discounted rates. I will then send these items into Amazon for you, and I will “manage” your listing and grow your sales.”
This is a deal that’s hard to turn down. And at the end of the day, it is a win-win situation.
For you: You get direct access to the manufacturers instead of having to go through the distributor. This means that you can buy items from them in bulk at a huge discount, allowing you to make more profits on the items you sell!
For them: More money! Considering this is a long-term deal, you’re going to make them a lot more money since you’ll be regularly buying their items in bulk. (Who would say no?)
Step #3: Optimize the listing, purchase the products and make money
Here’s the part I love: Selling.
You’ve found your “target” product, made an offer your supplier can’t resist – now it’s time to sell this product and make some money.
(Isn’t that the whole point?)
And how do you do this?
By editing the listing to make it even better. Adding better photos. Adding a great title. Adding a great description – and greatly increasing the conversions and sales.
You then buy the product you want to sell at wholesale, discounted rates, then ship them into one of Amazon’s FBA warehouses.
Amazon’s FBA warehouses are super duper incredible. They store your own items for you in their warehouse.
When a customer purchases your item, Amazon will pick, pack and ship this item off to your customer – without you having to even lift a finger.
This means you don’t have to do any of the heavy lifting.
At this point it’s basically a passive source of income. All you have to do is order new products when inventory gets low. It’s upfront work for long-term rewards!
